It should be note that you can not apply the same values of BMI in children and teenagers due to their constant increase in height and body development, so that a BMI is obtained with respect to their age and sex, therefore you must first have the date of birth and measurement to obtain the calculated age and thus be more accurate when categorising this age group, then the BMI will be calculated with the same formula as for the adult. BMI is an estimate of body fat based on height and weight. It doesn’t measure body fat directly, but instead uses an equation to make an approximation.
