Science and technology always mesmerized me from a very young age. This fascination and curiosity made me take apart all the everyday objects from watches to television to see how these things work and this also led me to pursue engineering for my undergraduate. I choose National Institute of Technology Karnataka for my undergrad with major in Electronics and communication which is one of the most sought-after programs in India with only top 1 percent of students getting qualified. Being from a middle-class family, I never had a computer or used it much until my college days. It was an exciting day when I got my first pc and this first sparked my interest towards computer programming. During my undergraduate studies in electronics and communication, I got to meet a lot of brilliant students from various part of the country. In college, I acquired knowledge on courses related to electronics and communication like analogue electronics, digital systems, and computer architecture to name few of them. It’s in the time of my final year dissertation, where I explored more about programming and during this, I built my first android app. The app was for face detection using voila jones algorithm. From then on I started learning more about programming, learning data structures, algorithms, building apps and websites. The passion for coding led me to join Sonata Software after graduation. At Sonata Software, I worked as a web developer in building Sonata Ecommerce ERP products (Brick & Click, Sonata Digital Commerce Platform) and a project for Health & Glow, a company based in India which sells beauty and wellness products online. Working on these projects helped me to develop a keen understanding of software development, I was able to go through all cycles of Software Development, right from requirements collection to maintenance. I could explicitly see the difference between my graduation projects at college and live projects at work in terms of difficulty level and real-time challenges. But I’m happy that I was able to prove myself at work. Also, regular interactions with the clients’ onsite had helped me improve my interpersonal skills and gave me the ability to work with people from different backgrounds. I received two Sonata DNA excellence awards for my valuable contribution to the firm and the projects. Being associated with this firm and these projects gave me expertise and experience in databases, both front end and back end web technologies.
