Introduction

Internet of things is a network which is embedded with devices and it also allows the network to receive and send information. IOT has three main factors, they are:

Instrumented – embedded with a chip
Interconnected- they are connected to an automatic network
Intelligent- This means that every persuasive services has to be intelligent.

The Architecture of IoT system is split into four steps, which are:
? Object sensing

Data exchange
Information integration
Application service

Historical Background

The Internet of Things was roughly developed in the early 1800’s, when the first landline was created. Then later on, in the 1900’s, the first radio voice transmission was developed. People described as a ‘wireless telegraphy’.

Technology was developed to help us in our daily lives, they did this by “changing the way we communicate and access information”. Life was such much simpler back then, as there were no technology consuming our lives. Back then they closer to each other and communicated with one another. Whereas, nowadays we live in a world which people do not socially interact with one another. An example, children and teens prefer spending their time playing video games or on their phone than going outside playing with their friends.

“Every great movement must experience three stages: ridicule, discussion, adoption.” (John Stuart Mill)

Internet of Things has huge amount of potential due to the fact that there is a lot of expectations towards this topic. As this is an area, that is constantly developing. So this benefits the business sector as it great financial opportunity to invest in, since they are a lot of expectations from the public.

IoT has impacted the world but mainly in the communication, entertainment and the industrial sector. In the industrial sector, IoT had a huge effect operational and support side. An example is by controlling the production process, in the oil sector they have sensors which helped them create more efficiency.

Types

Topics which are associated with IoT are:
  ? Healthcare
IoT has been around the health sector for several years this has helped create a more efficient healthcare system. With the help of remote healthcare monitoring. This is essential as it helps safe people’s lives.

Automotive

This sector is constantly developing as there is a need for this. Business are investing in this area as this brings a lot financial opportunities. An examples, is connected cars which are equipped with GPS system, Wireless Connection etc. Also another example is self-driving Cars which google working on. Both of these examples are very futuristic as they have different features that help us.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Benefit of IoT is that the computers track the quality and viability of things so this improves the safety and quality of life. The main financial advantage of this is this saves companies a lot of money by replacing humans with technology. Also, it is time saving since because less trips will be done. Disadvantages is that privacy is a big issue due to this data has to be encrypted  so information about the employees financial statement is private, only certain staff members are allowed to see. Another issue with IoT is safety which means that there is a chance that the software can be hacked and private information is misused.

Legal and ethical implications

The legal implications is data
