Imagine being in Georgia and smelling
the beautiful air. It is a lovely state to stay in. Georgia has grown since the
1900s. During the 1900s, Georgia had the highest amount of farms of any state
in the south. When Georgia became a state, it started off very small with
little people to administrate. Georgia
founded in 1732 and was the 13th British colony to exist. Georgia
was created to protect colonies from the Spanish attack.
Every state has a Dual Constitutional
that establish roles and responsibilities of an government. Georgia have a
strong government and strong governor. James Oglethorpe was the first governor
of Georgia back in the 1800s. Nathan Deal is currently the Governor for Georgia
and the first lady is Sandra Deal. Sandra Deal is an educator and an author of
several books. Mrs. Deals endorses education, volunteering as a first lady of
Georgia. Governor Nathan Deal does a good job administrating laws for Georgia.
The governor and its legislatures has change from the past to the present. There
are several branches such as the Executive Branch, Judicial Branch, and
In the past, when the first governor
James Oglethorpe was nominated there was less power needed to be administrated.
Georgia grew over time, back then when Oglethorpe was governor there was less
than 12,000 residents, now there are over 100,000 resident in Georgia.
The Executive branch appoints the governor
and issues the rules, which includes the president, the vice president, all
departments and all agencies, and all the committees. The Legislative Branch
consists of 150 members, which is responsible for managing the state and the
state policy. The Judicial Branch has two courts under the branch that
individual attend to. The two courts are a Constitutional Court and a Supreme
Court. In a supreme court, the federal government is over the state and local
laws. In a Constitutional Court, the laws are constitutional, and has to be
proven or not proven to be constitutional. There are also an constitutional convention
that takes place every 10 years. It is when electors meet for a convention and
can possibly rewrite an entire constitution.
A panel or a governor can selects a constitutional change but cannot legally
make the change.
Georgia is a democratic state, the
president is over all the states in the world. However, each government over
each state is like the preacher over their state that states the wrong and
right of their state and issue the laws of each state and is their duty to make
their state great without any law issues.
Georgia became the fourth state to
ratify the U.S Constitution and join the federal system of government. Under
the federal system some powers such as: coining money and national defense
granted exclusively to the national government. Powers such as taxation and
adopting criminal codes granted to both levels of government. Georgia was the
first state to enact a constitutional provision governing the title and the
content of bills, and many other state constitutions would follow this
In the state of Georgia, a Lieutenant
Governor is appointed but not by the governor. The lieutenant goes through a
different election party. So the Governor has no say in who becomes his “vice
The local government have three types
of local governments such as: counties, cities, and special districts. However
there are constitution limits for the countries but not for the cities and the
special districts. In Georgia there are 159 counties which is more than enough
for their government. But Nathan Deal is doing a fine job by administrating all
After reading the chapter three I learn
more about the government. The government of Georgia has a lot of
responsibilities such like other government over different states. Taking the
government position in any state gives that individual a lot of power and many
sleepless nights. Being the government is a huge job to commit. I also learned
that everyone have a natural law. A natural law is when everyone have their own
rights which is not created by the government.
