Figure 4: Test them with word test.Practicing vocabularyAccording to the questionnaire data above this figure, it is found that, do they practice vocabulary on a regular basis, among all the respondents, 22% students said that they are always practicing vocabulary on a regular basis, 28% students are often practiced vocabulary on a regular basis, 34% students are sometimes practiced vocabulary on a regular basis, 14% students are rarely practiced vocabulary on a regular basis, 2% students are never practiced vocabulary on a regular basis. It is found that most of the students are often practicing vocabulary on a regular basis.Figure 5: Practice vocabulary on a regular basis.Getting help from teachersFrom The questionnaire depicted in the figure too, researcher came to know that how often they get help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom, among all the respondents, 34% students said that they are always getting help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom, 22% students are often got help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom, 32% students are sometimes getting help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom, 10% students are rarely getting help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom, 2% students are never getting help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom. So students are always getting help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom.Figure 6: Get help from their teachers for learning vocabulary in their classroom.Putting the words into sentenceRegarding students’ answers, it is found about their opinion that, do they put the words into sentences, among all the respondents, 34% students said that they always put the words into sentences, 24% students are often, 26% students are sometimes, 10% students are never put the words into sentences. So it is the fount that students always put the words into sentences.Figure 7: Put the words into sentenceWriting the new word separatelyFrom the above figure It is found that, do they write the new word down together with its pronunciation, among all the respondents, 12% students always, 24% students are often, 40% students are sometimes, 8% students are rarely, 16% students are never written the new word down together with its pronunciation. So it is found that, above the respondents, 44% respondents said ‘yes’ that their practice vocabulary time scheduled and organized, 56% respondents said that they never practices vocabulary time scheduled and organized. The student never practices vocabulary time scheduled and organized.Figure 9: Practices time scheduled and organized.Learning word meaningThe question in the questionnaire wanted to know the students’ opinion that how they learn word meaning, It was found that among all the respondents, 32% students said that they learn word meaning with the help of their teacher 14% students said that they learn word meaning from class note 38% students said that they learn word meaning from text books 16% students said that they learn word meaning from guide books.Figure10: Learn word meaning.Using dictionaryFrom the above figure It is found that what type of dictionary they use, among all the respondents, 68% students said that they use English to Bangla Dictionary, 8% students said that they use English to English Dictionary, 24% students said that they do not use a dictionary. So here most of the students used English to Bangla Dictionary.Figure 11: Dictionary they use.Appling strategyThe question of the answer that, do they apply any Strategy to learn new words, among all the respondents, 44% students strongly agree that Listening English songs and news helpful them to learn new words, 52% students agree that Listening English songs and news helpful them to learn new words, 4% students no comment that Listening English songs and news helpful them to learn new words. Most of them students totally disagree that listening to vocabulary CDs helpful them to learn new words.Figure 15: Listening to vocabulary CDs helpful.During the research a focus group discussion took place which includes ten students with five questions. The summary of the discussion given below:I collect information from 10 students through group discussion. First of all, I asked them about having vocabulary in their syllabus. Most of them answered that they had not directly included vocabulary in their syllabus. Less of them responded that inclusion of vocabulary in their syllabus is obscure. The other part of the students claims that they have not any ideas vocabulary. Second query is that what they think about why vocabulary learning is important. We can do well in English if we learn vocabulary well. As English is an international language, we need to learn vocabulary to communicate other parson of the world. If we want to go anywhere in the world, we need to learn vocabulary to communicate. Next query is that what the easy way to learn vocabulary is. Most of them responded that they learn vocabulary from the text book, social media and newspaper. Less of them learn vocabulary with the help of house tutor. Rest of the students learns vocabulary from internet and through English conversation. Additional query that can you explain why vocabulary learning is not easy for you. Most of them express their opinion that vocabulary learning is not easy because it is not our mother tongue. Another reason is that if you do not use vocabulary repeatedly, you will forget it easily. When they try to speak in English, they do not find the accurate and specific word. And when someone make mistakes, everyone does mockery to him. For that all reason they lose their inspiration of learning vocabulary and speaking English. Final query is that what is the strategies you apply to learn vocabulary. Most of them answered that they do not use any strategies to learn vocabulary. Rest of them uses some strategies such as social media (Facebook, YouTube), English movies and songs.
