movement : Andante con moto

Andante con moto (moving with purpose)
is played with a moderately moving. The form of this movement is theme and
variations. This movement change a pace with a calm of the noble Andante. In this movement, Beethoven
create two themes which is the first theme is lyrical and serene, played by the
string and the second theme is quiet, then triumphant, played by the brasses.

from engaging in succession two themes very different in mood.

tempo. The form of this movement is ternary. In this movement, Beethoven wanted
to infuse it with more life and energy. So, he often wrote a faster, more
rollicking piece and called it a scherzo
which mean “joke”. This movement is certainly far removed from the elegant
world of the courtly minuet. In this Beethoven’s scherzo, the formal plan is ABA’. The scherzo A  is in the tonic key of C
minor, while the trio, B, is in C
major then it return to A which
Beethoven show differently than other Classical composers. From this movement,
Beethoven want the listener know that this movement is sometimes mysterious,
sometimes pounding scherzo and trio differ radically from the more elegant
minuet and trio of Mozart’s Eine kleine
Nachtmusik.

of Symphony no. 5 in C minor. In this finale, Beethoven created a longer and
beefier than his first movement. This piece was write with a big, bold and in
most cases, triadic themes, assigning these most often to the powerful brasses.
From the theme and the instruments, Beethoven get his  “heroic” at his best.
